Jennifer received her B.S. in Cell Biology/Biochemistry from Bucknell University in 2005. During her summers in college and her first year after graduation she worked in the molecular biology lab of Dr. Doris Wu at the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), studying inner ear morphogenesis using chick embryos. Soon after, she entered the Graduate Partnership Program between University of Maryland, College Park and the NIDCD where her thesis focused on contributions from the hindbrain and mesenchyme to the development of the semicircular canals and cochlea of the inner ear. In 2009, she received her M.S. in Neuroscience and moved to Colorado where she joined the Barlow Lab and switched to studying taste buds and the tongue. Jennifer has her hands in many of the projects circulating in the Barlow Lab as well as keeping everyone in order and on task (!).
Interests outside the lab: In her free time, Jennifer loves to take advantage of the CO weather and spends most time outdoors hiking, playing volleyball or skiing with her family. |
